NAFA’s Insurance Marketing Advisory Committee (IMAC) concluded a successful IMO Summit on October 16-18, in Aspen, Colorado. The Summit attracted 200 representatives from insurance marketing organizations, carriers and industry vendors throughout the country. The program focused on the unique issues facing IMOs and topics related to fixed annuity distribution.

In addition to an exhibit hall and many opportunities for networking, the event featured presentations by identity theft and data protection expert Julie Ryan, social media insights from Kevin Zellmer of HootSuite, and viewpoints on regulatory issues by former Iowa Insurance Commissioner Susan Voss. The IMO Roundtable meeting was also an important discussion session held at the conference, reserved specifically for IMO representatives.

Perspectives on key federal issues that face fixed annuities in the year ahead were covered by NAFA lobbyist Cliff Andrews of CapCity Advocates. Currin Compliance President & CEO Cailie Currin, Esq., presented a session on issues recently bubbling to the forefront in the compliance arena.

A special NAFA working group unveiled a new NAFA Premier Partner membership benefit that will be available in early 2014. The program, called myPASS, will give members exclusive online access to customizable, NAFA-produced content on dozens of industry-specific topics and sales concepts.
